Road Trip :: Top 5 :: World Cafe :: August 4th

It was a Joy to get an email from David Dye of WXPN's World Cafe.
They picked my top 5 songs about "road trip" to kick of my road trip to New Orleans.
David asked about my project and where I teach (RIT).
It is a nice plug for drive project!

Here they are:
|1| Willin - Steve Earle version from Sidetracks
|2| Next Best Western - Richard Shindell from Live Courier
|3| Ive Been Everywhere - Johnny Cash from Unchained
|4| Car Wheels on a Gravel Road - Lucinda Williams from Car Wheels...
|5| Drive My Car - The Donnas Version from This Bird Has Flown: A 40th Anniversary Tribute to the Beatles Rubber Soul

You can listen to the World Cafe on WXPN's at 2:00 p.m. (EST) or on WNCW at 7:00 p.m. (EST)

New Orleans :: Drive Project :: Logo

I am finishing up the logo for this project.
The plan is to make physical prints using wood cut or glass plates.
It will be 4 colors: Lite Violet, White, Red, Gold/Yellow.
Paper will be chipboard.

It is inspired by tattoos and Hatch Show Prints (thanks, Jim)

Do you got what it takes to view my FLASH project?

This is a question that I figured out how to ask today. Regarding a Detect for Flash Player Plug-in. The best answer I could find in searching is a Detection Kit that you can download from Adobe. There are a few options, but the best one i found was a client-side detect that calls a .js document. It is an "IF/ELSE" statement that you can swap out the values for file, size, color... and then edit the "ELSE" message.
Thank you Adobe for being so kind.
Since moving up to Flash 8, there are still a tremendous amount of people who have not installed the new player. Have you? If not... go do it!

Arch City

St. Louis was my home for 3 years (actual location: edwardsville, IL). I found it to be a good place to visit. Some love it to live... I now like to return to see the friends I made. One thing that really struck me upon this return is how impressive the "arch" is as a monument. There are lots of great stories about its construction. One is that no one lost their life on the project during it's construction. It is something to see.
Today I quietly published my road trip to and from St. Louis. http://stlouis.driveproject.com
Let's see who picks it up.

Kick Off the Blog

Everyone asks what I am up to with the Drive Project...
I have decided to track my activity with MovableType.
In the past 4 weeks I have been extremely busy working on DP STL 06. It is posted but not launched.
If you poke through you may find some bugs... I have... Getting them pressed out.
Updated my (mt) account to hold more images. The new project for St. Louis is 750ish megs. Looking foward to seeing what I come up with for New Orleans trip.
